About OpenSensation™
OpenSensation describes how biological organisms and artificial systems sense the environment, their bodies, hardware and operational state. It provides a shared vocabulary and open data for sensory research, robotics, physical AI, HCI, accessibility, simulation and education.
The project connects modalities, stimuli, sensors, receptors, transduction, signals, processing, sensations, context, candidate percepts, limitations and evidence. It keeps those layers distinct. Similar functions do not prove equivalent mechanisms or subjective experience.
OpenSensation is part of AI Attributes™ and a sibling to OpenEmotions™. Future interoperability can use namespaced references without hard dependencies. Live cross-project integration is not claimed.
The first dataset is primarily editorial seed material and welcomes sourced corrections. It has no fabricated researchers, institutions, partnerships, sponsors or testimonials. See the evidence and contribution guides to participate.
