Scientific and engineering limitations

OpenSensation v0.1 is an open research knowledge base, primarily seeded with editorial concepts. It is not:

  • a medical diagnostic tool or clinical reference;
  • a certified safety database or autonomous-vehicle safety authority;
  • a replacement for manufacturer specifications;
  • proof of subjective experience, sentience or consciousness.

Do not use this project alone for high-stakes safety decisions. No universal pain, comfort, damage or safety thresholds are supplied. A null threshold means unknown, not safe or unlimited. Numerical illustrative ranges do not describe a real device or population.

Functional analogies between biological sensing and machine telemetry do not imply equivalent mechanisms or experience. Candidate percepts and appraisal links are conditional modeling examples. The project does not implement real-time perception, diagnosis, emotion inference, agent control or sensor fusion.

Species applicability is incomplete and requires specialist review. Modalities overlap and do not constitute a settled exhaustive taxonomy. Source attachment validates provenance structure, not scientific truth. Remote URL validity, study quality, reproducibility, measurement traceability and expertise claims require human checks.

v0.1 has no formal WCAG certification, independent security audit, clinical validation or availability guarantee. Users should inspect versioned claims and limitations, consult appropriate primary references, and contribute corrections with evidence.
